KOVILPATTI
CB-CID officials submitted evidence, including 17 weapons that were used in the police firing, collected in connection with the anti-Sterlite agitations in Thoothukudi, to the Judicial Magistrate I in Kovilpatti on Tuesday.
Sources said over 150 cartridges were also submitted in the court. The officials on Monday submitted evidence, including blood-stained clothes of victims and bullets that were recovered from the bodies of victims.
Earlier, nearly 100 officials from various departments started their probe into the police firing in the last week of June, after five cases registered in relation to the incident were transferred to the CB-CID. They had conducted search and combing operations across the city.
The evidence was submitted before Magistrate C. Sankar by CB-CID Inspector Ulagarani.
