The Tondiarpet police have rounded up a gang of suspects from a hideout in Tindivanam.
As per the instructions of Commissioner of Police A.K. Viswanathan, Deputy Commissioners of Police intensified night patrolling across the city. Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Washermanpet Ravali Priya Gandhapuneni, a special team intercepted a youth near the Tondiarpet bridge. He was identified as Lakshmanan, 26, wanted in criminal cases by the Tondiarpet police.
Based on his inputs, the special team rounded up three accomplices, including a juvenile, at Mel Malayanur in Tindivanam. The police recovered 20 billhooks from them. They were later remanded in judicial custody while the juvenile was lodged in the Special Observation Home.
