Vadodara/ Surat: Rail traffic movement on Ahmedabad-Mumbai route has been paralysed to such an extent that it will continue to affect train movements for the next two days.

“Since there is no way for these trains to reach their destinations, they cannot return as pairing train. The New Delhi-Mumbai Central Rajdhani Express, Bandra Terminus – Dehradun Express, Mumbai Central – Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express, Hazrat Nizamuddin – Bandra Terminus Express and Hazrat Nizamuddin – Bandra Terminus Garib Rath have been cancelled for Wednesday while Dehradun – Bandra Terminus Express will remain cancelled on Friday as well.

“I was going to Vapi to attend an important interview, but the train was short terminated at Surat. Now, I have no other option but to reach Vapi either by bus or taxi,” said Ajay Mehta, a resident of Ahmedabad.

Railway authorities are keeping their fingers crossed. “If rain continues, the situation is not going to improve on Wednesday as well. We have set up help desk at the railway station to assist the passengers.
