HYDERABAD: A man banged his three-year-old son against an autorickshaw in Hyderabad, police said on Monday.
Shiva Goud (40), an auto-rickshaw driver, was allegedly in an inabriated state. Goud is absconding and a search is on for him, police said.
The child, who was injured, has been hospitalised and is out of danger, police inspector P Srinivas said.
"The boy's mother was not ready to give complaint against her husband, but we registered a suo moto case under relevant sections of Child Care and Protection Act and Juvenile Justice Act," the inspector said.
The boy has been handed over to Child Welfare Committee, the police official added.
