Nissan Titan Surfcamp Show Truck Heads For The Shore

Hitting the beach this summer? Then Nissan has just the truck for you. It’s called the Titan Surfcamp, and it’s just a show piece. But it goes to show just some of the extensive possibilities for customization that make pickup trucks so versatile.

The Surfcamp concept started out as a Titan XD Crew Cab Midnight Edition, straight off the factory floor in Canton, Mississippi. It packs a 5.0-liter Cummins V8 diesel engine, and is fitted with a factory-authorized suspension lift kit and wheels – both from Icon – coated in Nitto Ridge Grappler off-road tires.

It also packs a Fab Four Vengeance Series front bumper, underbody protection plates, and a retro ’60s/70s-style wrap inspired by the 1967 Nissan Patrol and a Hot Wheels 1971 Datsun Bluebird wagon. Inside it’s fitted with neoprene seat covers and heavy-duty floor mats, while the bed features a Utili-track channel and Decked bed drawer systems and a Leitner Design cargo rack with Rhino-Rack cab roof rack to hold fishing tackle, wetsuits, surfboards, and anything else you could want for venturing off the beach and out into the surf. It even has a solar-heated shower, 125-quart cooler, auxiliary lighting, and a deployable tent.

“In the summer, beach parking lots are full of trucks hauling surfboards, fishing rods, boats and campers as people crave the sun and sand,” said Fred DePerez, head of Nissan’s US truck division. “Inspired by the vintage beach trucks of the 1960s, TITAN Surfcamp is a celebration of the beach truck tradition with all the modern technologies TITAN customers want when they head out to surf, shore fish and camp-out by the water.”

The Surfcamp is just the latest in a series of adventure-inspired Nissan show trucks, following the Titan Basecamp, Armada Snow Patrol, Smokin’ Titan, and Armada Mountain Patrol. At this rate, you can expect more like these to follow in the coming months.
