Sugar gains on good demand

Mumbai, Jul 9 (PTI) Prices of both varieties of sugar gained at the Vashi wholesale market here today on good demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Small sugar (S-30) edged up by Rs 2 per quintal to Rs 3,212/3,312 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,210/3,312.

Medium sugar (M-30) also moved up by Rs 12 per quintal to Rs 3,302/3,582 from Rs 3,290/3,582 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,212/3,312 (Rs 3,210/3,312).
