PATNA: Police on Monday arrested Anand Shanker (45), teacher at a government public school at Lalbagh in
Darbhanga, on charges of sexually harassing the minor girls of the school by touching their private parts and showing them nude pictures and porn clips.

Sujit Kumar Mishra was also arrested for not taking any action against the teacher despite several complaints made by the parents of harassed girls against him.
Darbhanga SDPO Anoj Kumar said the teacher also used to rough up his students while taking classes. “Parents of two minor girls reached the school and reported the matter to the principal. Instead of taking any action against the teacher, the principal asked the parents to leave the matter to the school management. This infuriated the parents, who created a ruckus in the school along with locals,” the SDPO said.
The matter came to light after a Class V student of the school started making excuses on Monday to skip school. The girl later narrated her ordeals to her parents.
Anand was arrested and sent to jail under Section 354 (criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the
Indian Penal Code and various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (
POSCO) Act.
The principal, on the other hand, has been booked under Sections 293 and 294 that deal with obscenity at public places.
