New SSP calls for crackdown on tipplers

LUCKNOW: Kalanidhi Naithani took charge as Lucknow SSP on Sunday and soonafter ordered a crackdown on tipplers lurking outside model shops. "Curbing street crime like snatching, crime against women and drunken brawls would be priority," said Naithani who plans to revive the 'anti-dacoity cell' in the district.

"We will publish a pamphlet of '10 rules' to be followed by citizens for making them aware and taking precautions like not sharing ATM password, installing CCTV cameras, not taking assistance from strangers in banks, not eating anything offered by stranger, he said. "I will focus on patrolling from midnight to 5am," he said.
