Renowned TV and film director TN Seetharam’s (TNS) new saga continues with Magalu Janaki on Colors Super. The senior artiste will once again be seen as a lawyer in it. What is it with lawyers and TN Seetharam? He replies, “I am a lawyer who is an utter failure in court. That is why I bring the character to life in screen.”
TNS will once more portray the character of lawyer CSP (Chandra Shekhar Prasad). He has played the fictional character he created that in earlier serials as well. This time, TNS reveals there will not be many courtroom scenes in Magalu Janaki as, “In the past, I wrote stories to accommodate courtroom scenes. This time the courtroom scenes are added because the story demands it.”
He also has another reason to celebrate — the title song of Magalu Janaki, which was uploaded online, has gone viral with over 4 lakh views within a matter of days. “I am happy as no other serial has garnered this kind of success for its title track,” beams the director, who returns to television after a gap of five years.
TNS is known for his gripping stories and family dramas such as Mayamruga and Manvanthara, which were telecast for months much before the era of family sagas took over the world of television. He has also written the story and the screenplay for Magalu Janaki.
Giving us a glimpse of the plot, TNS relates, “It is the story of a father and his estranged daughter. They are separated when she is barely an infant and do not see each other for 20 years. When he comes face-to-face with her and tries to help her, she refuses to take any help from him. She shows her dislike towards him even though the father only has good intentions. The story is based on this father-daughter relationship.”
Apart from TNS and Sudha Belawadi, everyone else in the show is a newcomer. The title role is played by Ganavi. The other USP of this series will be the cameos by celebrities every now and then. “It will make the story gripping. It will definitely not be slow paced,” assures the director.
