Two Punjab natives and a jawan were killed in two separate incidents of drowning in Himachal Pradesh's Una district, police said today.
The two drowned youths from adjoining Punjab have been identified as Sumit Kalia (31) of Jalandhar and Satbir Singh (27) of Hoshiarpur district, Bangana Deputy Superintendent of Police (Head Quarter) Ashok Verma said.
Kalia drowned in Gobind Sagar lake in Mandli area near Garib Nath temple and Singh drowned in Nangal Dam reservoir near Bharmouti area, he said.
While the army man Rishi Dhiman (23) drowned in Gobind Sagar lake near Budhan area in the district.
A native of Sakroh village in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh, Dhiman was posted with Dogra Regiment and was on leave for few days, Verma added.
The bodies of Kalia and Dhiman have been recovered and handed over to their family members after conducting post-mortem at a local hospital, he said
However, efforts are on to trace the body of Satbir, he added.
