Uttar Pradesh: Miscreants kidnap 17-year-old girl from Ballia

VARANASI: Three miscreants kidnapped a 17-year-old girl and fled in an SUV at a village in Bhimpura area of Ballia district late on Saturday.
On the complaint of girl’s father, the police on Monday lodged an FIR against unknown persons under sections 363 and 366 of IPC. A manhunt has been launched to nab the kidnappers and rescue the girl.

According to reports, the girl along with her sister-in-law had gone to the field when the miscreants forcibly took her with them in their SUV.

After returning home, her sister-in-law narrated the incident to the family. Initially they themselves tried to look for the girl, and later reported the matter to police.

Rasara CO Awdhesh Chowdhary said that the FIR was lodged under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her mar¬riage, etc.) of IPC. The matter is being investigated, he said.
