Gangster Munna Bajrangi shot dead in Jhansi, Bhagpat jail by rival gang member

Munna Bajrangi, a notorious gangster was shot dead inside the premises of the Jail, situated in Uttar Pradesh. Sunil Rathiat, who was a members of the rival gang, fired a shot at him from some distant, and Bajrangi died on the spot. Bajrangi was going to be produced in the court in relation to the murder of a BJP Lawmaker. Doubts have begun to surface about the availability of a gun in the prison, and how it came into the possession of the inmate. Bajrangi had a dreaded reputation that preceded him, as he was accused of murdering at least 40 people, and was also involved in extortion cases. He also had a reward of Rs 7 Lakh for his crimes.

He was arrested in 2009, from Mumbai, and had been lodged in Jhansi Jail. Bajrangi’s wife, had mentioned that her husband was in danger inside the Jail. She said that Special Task Force had been planning to to kill Bajrangi, since they had visited the Jail, and were always asking about his health.

She’d also requested the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, to try and stop any conspiracy against him. The Jailer and deputy of the prison have been suspended after the incident. Yogi Adityanath has said that an inquiry has been launched in the case, since such an incident can’t be ignored.
