Provision of 8.23 Lakh qtls of seed, 10.70 lakh tons of fertilizers set

Acknowledging the contribution of farmers of the state, Chief Minister Raman Singh said that there will be no food without farmers. So there will be no life without food.

Addressing the State residents in his monthly radio programme 'Raman Ke Goth' aired from Akashwani Raipur centre, Dr Singh gave detailed information about the arrangements made by state government to support farmers in the agricultural activities during current kharif season.

He said that last year, farmers of the state had used 7.77 lakh quintals of certified seeds in kharif season. So, this year the target has been set for distribution of about 8.23 lakh quintal certified seeds to them. Farmers have already collected 5.5 lakh quintals of seeds.

Singh also informed that last year during kharif season, farmers had utilized 8.73 lakh metric tons of fertilizers. Considering which, state government has arranged for 10.70 lakh metric tons of fertilizers this year, out of which 3.40 lakh metric tons of fertilizers have been already lifted by the farmers.
