The Maharashtra government on Monday declared a one-day holiday to all schools and colleges in view of heavy rains.
Mumbai reported heavy rainfall throughout Sunday night, with parents of schoolchildren anxious about their children reaching school the next day. At 11.33am, Maharashtra Education Minister Vinod Tawde tweeted, "Precautionary holiday declared for schools, colleges in Mumbai Metropolitan Region for the safety of students due to heavy rainfall experienced in city and suburban areas."
Besides, the deadline for first round of FYJC admissions has been extended up to 5pm Tuesday.Originally, it was 5pm Monday.
