NEW DELHI: A 65-year-old woman died under mysterious circumstances in north Delhi's Sarai Rohilla after fighting off a man who was trying to steal items from her house. Cops did not find any sign of foul play and suspect that the woman died due to her health issues.
The incident was reported on Monday after a drug addict, Kalu (26), entered the house of the victim, Gayatri Devi. Devi used to work as a tea-seller and had a stall outside her house.

"The woman, with a help of a broom, made sure that Kalu left her house. He had probably entered with the intention to steal," said additional DCP (North) Harendra Kumar Singh.

In the meantime, the elderly woman suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, where she was declared brought dead. According to her neighbours, Devi was a heart patient and a diabetic. Kalu was apprehended by the cops from the spot. TNN
