Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) earnings: Analysts will closely watch outlook for financial year 2018-19
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will today kick off the June quarter corporate earnings season. TCS, the country's largest IT services exporter, will report its earnings for the first quarter of fiscal year 2018-19 post-market hours. Investors and analysts will closely watch the IT major's report card as well as growth outlook for the year ahead. The company's commentary on upcoming contracts will also be keenly observed. Mumbai-headquartered TCS, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, had in the previous quarter beat the Street's expectations, by reporting a net profit of Rs. 6,904 crore over net income from operations of Rs. 32,075 crore. Tata Consultancy Services' top brass will address the media in a press conference at 5:15 pm. The company will interact with analysts at an earnings conference call scheduled at 7:00 pm, during which the TCS management will discuss the financial performance and take questions. Chief executive Rajesh Gopinathan's statement on the strategy ahead will also be monitored by analysts closely. The earnings announcement by TCS today will be followed by the quarterly numbers of another IT major - Infosys - later this week.
