HYDERABAD: In the bizarre incident where a woman walked into the State Secretariat, on Saturday evening, with fake job offer letter signed by chief minister’s personal secretary Rajasekhar Reddy, the cheating case registered at Saifabad police station has been transferred to the Central Crime Station of Hyderabad police on Sunday.

Police had registered a case against one Premsagar for forging the signature of CM’s special secretary in issuing fake employment letters. Having found that the accused has cheated over 25 persons and collected a sum of over Rs 1 crore from his victims, the case has been transferred to CCS for further investigation.
According to police, Premsagar issued job offer letters to his victims for jobs as junior assistant in Revenue department.

The fraud came to light when a woman named Nagamani, resident of Kukatpally, and a commerce graduate from Vijayawada, came to the state secretariat with appointment orders. As she approached the senior officials in Secretariat, it was revealed that the letter was fake and forged. Police said that Premsagar came into contact with Nagamani through her mother. Premsagar had identified, according to police, himself as a businessman and promised to help her get a government job. She is currently working as a contract employee at the income tax Wing at GST Hyderabad Unit.

From 2014 till recently, she had paid the suspect around Rs 6 lakh on different occasions. The CCS police would register fresh cases and would record the statement of the complainant.
