The premier court has dismissed the petition filed in the Taj Mahal to read Namaz. The Supreme Court has said that the Taj Mahal is one of the seven important heritage of the world. People can also pray in other mosques. The Agra administration had issued an order that only local people can follow namaz in the mosque which is built in the Taj Mahal campus. Local people who have come to pray Namaz, must also come with their identity card. The Agra administration had taken this order to keep the security system in the Taj Mahal complex. Juma(Friday) prayers are followed every Friday in the Taj Mahal Mosque. The administration was informed that outsiders also come here to pray namaz prayers. Considering the danger to security, the administration has made the local people the rule of allowing them to go in on the basis of identity card.

The order of the Agra administration was challenged in the Supreme Court to stop the outsiders from paying Friday prayers in the mosque. It was said in the petition that all Muslims have the right to offer prayers in the mosque. The Supreme Court today dismissed this petition. This decision was challenged in the Supreme Court by the Chairman of the Taj Mahal Masjid Management Committee Syed Ibrahim Hussain Zaidi. The petitioner said that many tourists come to Agra for the whole year and ordered to stop them from studying prayers in the mosque situated inside the Taj Mahal is arbitrary and illegal. The bench asked, why should they go to Taj Mahal for this prayer? There are also other mosques. They can read Namaz there.

Taj Mahal remains closed for tourists on Friday. The administration said that they had received information that some Bangladeshi and non-Indians were also going for the prayers in the Taj Campus. Therefore, for security reasons, the administration has directed that only local people can enter the campus who are from Agra and they have to show their identity card. It was said by the local administration that immediately after the filing of an outsider it should be given to him.
