At least 64 dead in floods, landslides in Japan

In Japan, the death toll has risen to 64 and four remain unconscious in recent floods and landslides. At least 44 people remain missing.  Hiroshima Prefecture was the hardest hit with 27 people reported dead.  Hundreds of homes have been damaged.  About 1.5 million people have been ordered to leave their homes and three million more advised to do so.  Thousands of police, firefighters and soldiers are taking part in search-and-rescue operations.
The flooding and landslides are hindering rescue operations.
