Ant-Man and the Wasp to Mission Impossible Fallout: Five Hollywood movies to watch this July
- 1 / 6
June was a mixed bag for Hollywood and pretty tame, as far as summer months go. July, however, has a few big, promising releases with lots of variety including superhero movies, action movies, animated movies and more. Barring some exceptions, one does not get to see high-concept, arthouse sort of movies in summer, a season that is known for good-looking, CGI heavy blockbusters that people watch while munching popcorn - thus the term 'popcorn movies'. But it is okay. The mind needs a break every once in a while. Here are five movies that no movie buff worth his or her salt should miss this month.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Marvel fans will not need any reason to watch this movie, but for the rest of us, this film will provide all the humour, thrills and action that we have come to expect from the franchise. The two heroes are diminutive, and this creates quite a few opportunities to craft distinctive action scenes. The film has already released in the US and has received positive reviews. In India, it hits theatres on July 13.

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation: The third film in Sony's Hotel Transylvania series will see Dracula and other monsters going on a vacation disguised as humans. The second film was a step up from the first and the premise of this one also suggests a fun premise. Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, David Spade, Steve Buscemi, Keegan-Michael Key, Molly Shannon, Fran Drescher, and Mel Brooks star. Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation releases on July 20.

Skyscraper: Dwayne Johnson is an actor who knows his limitations and strengths. He knows he is best in escapist cinema where a gung-ho, well-muscled hero is required to demolish baddies. He is in many ways the Arnold Schwarzenegger's equivalent of our generation. In Skyscraper, Johnson saves his family from perishing in a fire in - you guessed it - a skyscraper. A typical Dwayne Johnson plot and we can be sure he will accomplish what the story requires and emerge victorious in the end. Skyscraper releases on July 20.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout: Easily the biggest movie of the month, Fallout is the sixth installment in the famous action-spy series, Mission: Impossible. Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris, Michelle Monaghan, and Alec Baldwin reprise their roles from the previous films in the series while Henry Cavill and Angela Bassett are the strong additions. Henry Cavill, otherwise known as the Superman, will square off with Tom Cruise's famous Ethan Hunt in the film. Mission: Impossible - Fallout releases on July 27.

Teen Titans Go! To the Movies: When almost every popular DC character is getting its own movie, why should Teen Titans be the only one to be left out? This is the question that Robin, Batman's sidekick/protege struggles within this film. The film also features Deadpool... er, Deathstroke as the primary villain. The movie is classically animated in 2D, the feel and humour is classic too. Teen Titans Go! To the Movies releases on July 27.
