Nagpur: Ghatanji JMFC court has expressed dissatisfaction over police investigation into allegations against former Congress minister Shivajirao Moghe and asked the cops to investigate further. Moghe is facing allegations of fraud and bribery. In spite of evidences against the ex-minister, police filed a B summary (implying the complaint was false) in the court instead of a charge sheet.
Aynuddin Solanki, former upsarpanch of Kurli, had alleged that Moghe had taken Rs25 lakh from him through his personal assistant (PA) Devanand Pawar for appointing him as the chairman of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). However, the minister took money but did not keep his promise.

Solanki lodged a complaint against Parwa police seeking registration of an offence under Section 420 and 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Moghe and Pawar. However, as Moghe was a minister at that time, police refused to do its job. Solanki then approached Nagpur bench of Bombay high court, which issued a notice to Yavatmal superintendent of police (SP). Left with no option, the cops registered an offence against the minister and his PA.

During investigations, police seized a letter written by Moghe to Solanki acknowledging receipt of Rs25 lakh. The under posting certificate (UPC) letter sent by Moghe was recovered by Parwa police. Witness Swapnil Wankhede had told the police that Pawar had taken money in his presence. In spite of these evidences, Parwa police filed a B summary in the court instead of chargesheeting the minister.

During the hearing on the B summary of the case, Jagdish Wadhwani represented Solanki. The court observed that the police did not get the signature of Moghe’s then PA Mahadeo Jadhao verified by handwriting experts. It also pointed out other lapses by the cops. On the basis of available evidence, Ghatanji JMFC Chandrabhushan Ondare asked the Parwa police to investigate further.
