Legislators to be awarded after 9 years

 The Odisha Legislative Assembly will felicitate 24 MLAs with the Best Legislator Award. The selected MLAs will given the awards in three categories for their notable performance.

BHUBANESWAR:  The Odisha Legislative Assembly will felicitate 24 MLAs with the Best Legislator Award. The selected MLAs will given the awards in three categories for their notable performance.
The three categories are: Pandit Nilakantha Samman, Utkalmani Gopabandhu Samman and Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Samman.The best legislators from 2009 to 2016 will be awarded in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Speaker Pradip Amat. 

The award has not been presented to the legislators for last nine years.
According to the sources, Pandit Nilakantha Samman will be given to Bishnu Charan Das, Arun Kumar Sahu, Prabhat Kumar Biswal, Amar Prasad Satpathy, Pramila Mallick, Ranendra Pratap Swain, Ramesh Chandra Chyau Patnaik (all BJD) and Prafulla Majhi (Congress).

Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Samman will be given to Surendra Nath Naik, Bikram Keshari Burma (both BJD), Rajendra Dholakia (Ind), Bimbadhar Kuanr (BJP), Nityananda Pradhan (CPI), Umesh Chandra Swain, Surendranath Pramanik and Chakradhar Paika (all Congress). Utkalmani Gopabandhu Samman will be given to Sanjay Dasburma, Pritiranjan Gharai, Samir Ranjan Dash, Prashant Kumar Muduli, Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Raseswari Panigrahi, Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra (all BJD) and Pradip Purohit (BJP).
