COIMBATORE: Eleven college students, caught in
flash floods while bathing in the
Bhavani river in nearby
Mettupalayam, have been rescued, police said on Sunday.
The incident occurred when students of a private engineering college went there on Saturday evening.
They did not notice that the water level had risen following rains and release of excess water from the Bhavani dam, and were trapped in flash floods, they said.
