Kannada Development Authority urges H. D. Kumaraswamy to revisit two of his budget announcements

They discussed two budget announcements — one about merging almost 28,000 government and aided schools and the another was about opening English medium classes in Government schools.

BENGALURU: The Kannada Development Authority (KDA) has urged the Chief Minister to revisit two announcements made in the recent budget.

KDA authorities convened a meeting to discuss the matter on Saturday where over 40 educationists, social activists and experts participated. They discussed about two budget announcements — one about merging almost 28,000 government and aided schools and the another was about opening English medium classes in 1,000 government schools.

The members submitted a  memorandum to the CM. Prof S G Siddaramaiah, chairperson of KDA said, “We have requested the CM to make a detailed report by constituting an expert committee, make the committee visit those 28,000 schools and to decide about the merger later.” Meanwhile, KDA authorities said that the CM assured them of re-considering the announcements.
