Rajasthan, Maharashtra 'reluctant' to implement PM Modi's ambitious Ayushman Bharat: Official

In a setback to the Modi government's ambitious National Health Protection Scheme (AB-NHPS), two of the BJP-ruled states -- and -- have expressed "reluctance" to implement the programme.

The AB-aims at providing a coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family annually and benefiting more than 10 crore poor families.

The said that though the government has welcomed the Centre's scheme, "they are not sure how to implement it, as they already have the ongoing Bhamashah Swasthya Bima Yojana, under which are provided to around 4.5 crore people".
