Waste management plants would be set up

Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain said that  waste management plants would be set up for strengthening power system and a provision has been made to generate 32 MW power everyday from 2,000 tonnes of waste. She said that the work on waste management plants in Gurugram-Faridabad and Sonipat-Panipat clusters was under progress..

She said that the drinking water supply was being strengthened at a cost of Rs 487 crore in 18 cities under AMRUT Yojana. Apart from this, works on strengthening sewerage management, drainage system, park and public transportation were also carried out under this scheme.

The Minister said  that the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has also launched ‘Tooti Lagao, Jal Bachao’ campaign in villages falling under municipalities for water conservation which would be completed by September 30, 2018. Under the project to strengthen drinking water supply system, water connections would be given to 3.26 lakh houses in several cities. Similarly, sewerage connections would be given to 5.24 lakh houses

The Minister said that the present State Government was conscious towards the environment and in this direction, 532 parks have been developed at a cost of Rs 66 crore. She said that the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has announced development of parks in 25 municipalities which would cost about Rs 78 crore. She said that it has been decided to develop parks in 50 muncipalities under Swarna Jayanti Pariyojana. Under AMRUT Scheme, 80 parks would be developed for children, she added.
