West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today paid tribute to veteran Marxist leader Jyoti Basu on his 104th birth anniversary, besides wishing ace cricketer Saurav Ganguly on his birthday today.
Basu was West Bengal's sixth and longest serving Chief Minister from 1977 to 2000.
"Tribute to former Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu on his birth anniversary," Banerjee said in a Twitter post.
Basu was born on this day in 1914 in an affluent family. He passed away on January 17, 2010.
Mamata also wished Ganguly on his birthday today.
