Foreign joint-venture banks are allowed to bring in capital as well as technology and human resources from abroad to Nepal, a top official of the country's central bank has said, as he marked the 25th anniversary of the establishment of a subsidiary organisation of the State Bank of India in Nepal.
"The government is planning to open a bank account for every citizen of the nation and we expect that the banks also play an active role to materialise that plan, Siwakoti said addressing a programme to mark 25th year of establishment of Nepal SBI Bank, a subsidiary organisation of the State Bank of India.
Deputy Chief of Mission at Embassy of India in Kathmandu Ajay Kumar said that Nepal SBI bank played an important role in further strengthening people-to- people ties between Nepal and India.
