Nagpur: It was a pure delight for music enthusiasts to enjoy their favourite tracks, celebrating monsoon showers, during ‘Shravansari’ programme, organized by Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan, in association with Sachin Saraf Memorial Trust, at Sai Sabhagruh, on Sunday.
The programme was held as part of Yashwant Mahotsav. Former MLC Girish Gandhi was the chief guest.
Performances of talented artistes came like a breath of fresh air as they showcased their skills to win hearts and put up a great show. Gunwant Ghatwai painted the atmosphere serene in his soulful rendition of ‘Bagalyanchi maal phule’, originally sung by Dr Vasantrao Deshpande. The variations he brought in his voice to take each note with perfection left everyone spellbound.
Surbhi Dhomne mesmerized everyone with ‘Ye re ghana’ as she stepped in the shoes of Asha Bhosle.
Manjiri Vaidya too picked up a song from Bhosle’s kitty as she sang ‘Aaj kunitari yaave’ and won accolades for impressive singing. Her pleasant voice texture and modulations added spark to her performance.
Niranjan Bobde chose to present famous romantic song ‘Gaarva’, originally sung by Milind Ingle. All eyes were glued to him throughout his rendition as he struck a chord with the audience. The softness in his melodious voice worked wonders.
Organizer Seema Sahasrabhojnee, representing Saraf Memorial Trust, said that the motto behind holding the show was to showcase the essence of old Marathi songs before the young generation.
Renuka Deshkar kept the audience engaged with her musical trivia and said that lyricists and rains shared a special rapport and whenever they experienced showers, they poured their heart out on paper, tapping the innermost emotions.
