Chandigarh: Sultry weather prevails in most parts of Punjab and Haryana

CHANDIGARH: Hot and humid conditions prevailed at most places in Punjab and Haryana on Sunday. According to the Met office, maximum temperatures hovered above normal limits at most places in both the states.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 36.3 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, Narnaul was the hottest place recording a high of 40 degrees Celsius, up by two notches against normal limits.

Hisar and Bhiwani experienced hot and humid weather with respective maximums of 39 and 38.6 degrees Celsius.

Ambala recorded a high of 37.6 degrees Celsius while Karnal's maximum settled at 36.2 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded above normal maximum temperatures of 36.2 and 37.3 degrees Celsius respectively.

Amritsar's maximum settled at 37 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.

Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in Haryana and Punjab over the next two days, the Met office said.
