CHENNAI: A 99-year-old retired headmaster in the city has been arrested and charged with the
sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl.
The
Avadi all-women police took K Parasuraman into custody from his house in Senneerkuppam on Saturday after a complaint by the girl's parents, who live in a house he had rented out next door, investigators said on Sunday. "Parasuraman admitted to the crime," the officer said. "We arrested him under Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) and a magistrate has remanded him in judicial custody."
