Developers see spike insale of properties

Living Spaces expo attracts several leading builders

Living Spaces 2018, the two-day property expo presented by The Hindu Group, was inaugurated on Saturday.

With several property brands taking part, the property show offered buyers an array of options from budget homes and functional apartments to villas and luxury bungalows on a single platform. Buyers can meet representatives from financial institutions and banks through one-on-one sessions.

At the inauguration, W.S. Habib, president of CREDAI, Chennai, said the property sector had shown great improvement after a period of lull, and sale of properties in the city has shown a spike.

V. Murugan, general manager-south zone, Bank of Baroda, said there was inventory build up within the city but the prices of properties had not fallen proportionately. He expressed the confidence that the real estate market would have a big boom once again.

Mehul H. Doshi, secretary, and T. Padam Dugar, president-elect, CREDAI Chennai, and J. Johnson, managing director of Sathya Agencies, were present.

The expo is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chennai Trade Centre on Sunday and entry is free. Pre-register at www.thehindu.com/ livingspaces and attend the expo to stand a chance to win a free LED TV every hour at the expo.

The event is powered by Do my Home, banking partner is Bank of Baroda, colour partner is Nippon Paint, and home appliance partner is Sathya Agencies. It is being held in association with Roof and Floor.
