No end to turf war: Kejriwal says Centre not observing Supreme Court verdict 

NEW DELHI:  Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday continued his attack on the Narendra Modi-led NDA government for the second day after the SC verdict gave him an upper hand in the turf battle with the Lt. General Anil Baijal.  Alleging that the Centre was not following the Supreme Court order on the services front, Kejriwal said the Ministry of Home Affairs is not reading the entire order, which, he asserted, clearly stated that barring land, police and public order, the executive powers lie with the elected government of Delhi.

In its order, the Supreme Court had ruled that the Lt. Governor has limited administrative powers and is bound by the “aid and advice” of the elected government. The top court also advised the  Lt. Governor not to be an “obstructionist”. “If there is confusion on the part that who has the decision making powers with regard to the services department, then the Ministry of Home Affairs should move the court. Why hamper our good work by delaying postings?” a combative Kejriwal told the media on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister visited a few unauthorised colonies. There, he  announced that major road repair work and a robust drainage system were  a priority for his government.  “The situation in unauthorised colonies in Delhi is bad with respect to road and drain network. Our government has taken this up on a priority basis. Within 15 days, funds for all the major road work in unauthorised colonies will be released. Not only this, development works across Delhi will be speeded up,” Kejriwal told the people at these colonies.
