H D Kumaraswamy allocated Rs 30 crore for Film University at Ramanagara

BENGALURU: To provide training in direction, photography, sound editing and other subjects related to film production, the state government on Thursday announced setting up of a Film University at Ramanagara.

“I propose to provide capital of Rs 30 crore to open a Film University at Ramanagara with private partnership,” Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy stated in the budget presented on Thursday.

The government also proposed to provide Rs 40 crore to encourage industries providing services to film industry such as photography, editing, sound recording institutes, animation studios, computer graphic studios in the proposed Ramanagara Film city.

“In addition, I provide Rs 20 crore for housing and creation of other essential infrastructure for the artists and technicians coming from other countries for film production,” he added.
