The city police on Wednesday claimed that eight persons had died in the fire accident that took place at Bhadrakali Fire Works on the outskirts of the city and added names of two more deceased on Thursday.

Police Commissioner V. Ravinder in a statement said they came to a conclusion after an investigation that two persons Vadnala Mallikarjun and Vangari Rakesh also died in the accident. The body parts of the deceased were found scattered all over the accident spot and were collected.

The DNA samples of the deceased were collected by the forensic experts and sent to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Hyderabad to establish identity of the deceased.

The police along with the fire department officials were also conducting inspections at shops selling fire crackers and fireworks warehouses located in residential areas. Immediate measures would be taken to shift the warehouses to outskirts of the city, he said.
