J’khand man being brought back from Dubai

Chief Minister Raghubar Das has given instructions to officers to complete procedure to bring Santosh Giri, resident of Saraikela-Kharsawan from Dubai to India so that he returns to his family. On the initiative of the Chief Minister, the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India has given order to send Santosh Giri back to India within a week.

It is to be noted that Santosh Giri had e-mailed the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister on June 8, 2018, that an agent of Jamshedpur sent him to Dubai.

It has been 12 days in Dubai, but now he feels he has been trapped. He is kept captive and not even provided food. Santosh Giri pleaded for help from the Chief Minister.

The CM directed Resident Commissioner, Jharkhand Bhawan, New Delhi to contact with Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi to bring back Santosh Giri from Dubai and take all necessary action as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, on the initiative of CM Raghubar Das pilgrims from Jharkhand, who are stuck in Nepal on way to Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage, will be brought back to State safely.

The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India has instructed the Indian Embassy at Nepal to bring back safely all pilgrims stuck at Simikot and Hilsa in Nepal by special helicopters between July 4 and July 6 to Nepalganj.  

As per the directive of the MEA extra helicopters are bringing back the pilgrims to Nepalganj. The Indian Embassy in Nepal has started helpline service for the same and extra officers have been deputed for the work. The work of pilgrimage is going on smoothly.   

Expressing concern over the issue of Indian pilgrims alongside the Nepalganj-Simikot-Hilsa route of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra after heavy rainfall which caused landslips along the route of the pilgrimage, Chief Minister, Raghubar Das had issued instruction to the officials to contact Ministry of External Affairs to get information about the status of pilgrims of the State.

The CM has pledged all possible help to the pilgrims. As per information available with the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, there are about 525 pilgrims stranded in Simikot, 550 in Hilsa and another 500 on the Tibet side.
