Matt Power cements his place in Gungahlin Eagles history

He has been dubbed one of the best pound-for-pound players to ever pull on a Gungahlin Eagles jersey and Matt Power is racking up the numbers to prove it.

Power will play his 350th game for the Gungahlin Eagles when the club's fourth grade side take on the Queanbeyan Whites at Nicholls Enclosed Oval on Saturday.

It comes just three weeks after Leigh Hancock clocked up his 400th senior game - and veteran flyhalf Power is cut from the same cloth.

He has four children that are mad about the Eagles, his father Tim is a life member of the club, his brothers run the gate and the canteen, and his wife is a big fan and contributor to the club.

The Eagles' first ever top grade skipper Brendan McGee was full of praise for Power, who has become part of the fabric of the club.

"Pound-for-pound one of the best players to ever put on the Eagles' black and red jumper," McGee said.

"Three-hundred-and-fifty [games], plus all those games you run around your beautiful children."

Power has come to be known as everyone's best mate at the Eagles, which makes it fitting his milestone falls on the club's charity round.

The Eagles will be raising money for Menslink with the first grade side set to wear special jerseys with red and blue vees against the Whites in the main game, while supporters can buy charity socks at the game.
