Twenty seven Naxals were arrested from separate places in Chhattisgarhs Bastar and Sukma districts, police said today.
In Sukma, a team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) was carrying out a search operation yesterday in the forests near Gogunda and Simel villages in Fulbagdi area when it nabbed Muchaki Bhima (25), Muchaki Sula (25), Madvi Muda (28) and Madvi Sula (32), an official said.
Three others, identified as Madvi Kesha (35), Madvi Bhima (25) and woman cadre Kumari Madvi (20) were arrested by a joint team of the CRPF's CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) and the district force from Kottaguda village under Chintalnar police station area today, he said.
He informed that they were members of Maoist front organisations like the Dandakarnya Adivasi Kisan Mazdoor Sangthan, janmilitia and Chetna Natya Manch.
The seven ultras were allegedly involved in separate incidents of attacks on police teams, the official added.
In Bastar district, security forces carrying out a search operation in the forests of Darbha police station area rounded up 20 rebels active in the lower rungs of the proscribed outfit, he said.
