Emulate Tamil Nadu in putting up a joint fight, he says

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday took strong objection to the Centre ‘presenting a wrong picture’ on the implementation of the A.P. Reorganisation Act and fulfilling its commitments, to the Supreme Court through its affidavit.

He reiterated that the BJP had cheated the people and expressed regret that YSR Congress (YSRC) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan extended tacit support to it (BJP) to protect their selfish interests.

Speaking at the inauguration of the mass house-warming function under the NTR housing scheme here, Mr. Naidu said the State government was not even in a position to pay salaries and it quickly got back on its feet thanks to the people’s cooperation and hard work of the government employees.

The Central government’s claim that it did what all was required by A.P. was false. Mr. Naidu said the kind of spirit shown by officials, people and political parties in Tamil Nadu for a common cause was absent in the State. Differences, if any, should be settled internally and it was imperative that the YSRC, the JSP and others should support the ruling party in its fight against the Centre.

Decries attack on Kanna

The CM found fault with the throwing of slippers at BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana in Nellore district.

“Our fight is not against individuals but the Central government. Such incidents vitiate the peaceful atmosphere.”

It would take another 10 to 15 years to mitigate the impact of the bifurcation, he said.

Mr. Naidu reiterated that the clandestine support extended by the YSRC to the BJP was tantamount to selling its votes and that both the YSRC and JSP were doing a great disservice to the State.
