Haryana considering to reduce power tariff: CM

Haryana Government is considering to reduce the power tariff of domestic consumers, Chief Minister Manohar Lal said on Thursday.

The Chief Minister, while interacting with mediapersons in Kaithal said that since the inception of the state, for the very first time, Uttar and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam have come in profits.

The State Government has fixed a target of providing electricity for 18 hours to 24 hours in rural areas under Mhara Gaon, Jagmag  Gaon scheme. As per rule, power supply had been increased at those feeders that have cut down on line losses as per scheme, he said.

Manohar Lal said that the State Government has purchased 1.30 crore LED bulbs. By August 15, LED bulbs would be used in all government buildings to save electricity and would also be provided to general public, he said.

In reply to question regarding water conservation, he said that water conservation is a serious issue and the State Government is giving cash award of Rs 1 lakh through Public Health Engineering Department to such Gram Panchayats which are ensuring cent per cent installation of water taps for drinking water supply.

On the issue of allegations of recruitment of teachers through private firms, he said that 19 outsourcing companies have been listed in Education Department for recruitment through online tendering. In which, 12 companies are of Haryana and other seven are of Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra and others, he said.

Taking cognizance of complaints regarding irregularities in recruitment process of these companies, the State Government has cancelled all the recruitment and directions have been issued for investigation of the matter. Corruption in any form would not be tolerated in the state and strict action would be taken against those companies found guilty, he added.
