Mayor of North Delhi Adesh Gupta on Thursday called on Vice Chairman (VC) of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Udai Pratap Singh and requested him to provide land and facilitate other necessary clearances for carrying out construction of proposed multi-level parking lots at various places under its jurisdiction.

Gupta asked for additional land for construction of proposed multi-level parking at Idgah since the current parking space is not sufficient for construction of multilevel parking at the site, a release from North Corporation stated.

It said that Mayor also asked land for constructing parking lots in Rohini, Pitampura, Paschim Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Prasad Nagar, Rajendra Place and Patel Nagar to benefit the citizens residing in DDA colonies at these places.

The corporation also requested height relaxations at Gandhi Maidan and Idgah parking lots so that revenue generating options could be explored. It also asked for the approval for construction of multi-level parking and commercial spaces at seven existing parking sites of the North DMC in Rajender Place.

The corporation has proposed to build 56 multi storeys, surfaces and stack parking lots in its areas.
