NHRC announces winners for silver jubilee logo, slogan-tagline contests

A man has emerged as the winner from nearly 900 entries sent to the (NHRC) for its silver jubilee logo contest, the rights panel said today.

Several contests were organised online through the MyGov portal seeking people's involvement and participation in the promotion and protection of human rights, in the run up to the 25th year this year.

"A total of 893 entries were received for the logo design category and 4,237 entries for slogan/tagline category from the people of varied age groups from different parts of the country," the said in a statement.

Bansi Lal Ketki from in won the first prize of Rs 50,000 along with a certificate in the logo design contest.

His design artistically adds the numerals '25' to the existing logo of the NHRC, using the theme of the tricolour.

Tabrej Qureshi from Chhindwara in has bagged the top prize in the slogan/tagline contest.

His tagline entry was: 'Awaaz Aapke Adhikar Ki' and slogan -- 'Desh may vikas ki aayge bahar, jab hoga surakshit manav adhikar', the statement said.

He would receive a prize of Rs 20,000 along with a certificate.

The was established on October 12, 1993 under the Protection of the Human Rights (PHR) Act, 1993.

A few programmes have been held to mark the occasion and a few more are in the pipeline.
