The Mahila Court here on Friday sentenced a Sub-Inspector of Police Mahendran on the charge of sexually abusing a 13-year-old daughter of a head constable.
District and Sessions Judge A. Balkis sentenced him to undergo imprisonment for two and a half years and pay a fine of ₹10,000.
A complaint was filed before the Tallakulam all-women police station and he was arrested for the offence under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
