Congress started barricading ministers
Special Correspondent
Gwalior is the only city in the state, from where the three MLAs are cabinet ministers. Four of the six seats from the Gwalior are in the possession of the BJP and two into Congress. While, BJP has planned to win all the six seats of the district and on the other hand Congress is also not leaving any other core on its side.
Congress has started to frame strong bar against the three ministers belonging to Gwalior. Due to Jyotiraditya Scindhia’s home region, Gwalior is on the list of top priority for Congress. This is the same situation with BJP also, as it is the home district of the Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, the strong leader of the BJP and state president twice.
Suburban Gwalior seat is considered as labor, Dalit and minority abundant seat and the Higher Education Minister Jayabhan Singh Pavaiya is the MLA of this seat.
For this reason only, this seat is considered as VIP seat. Pavaiya won this seat by defeating Congress combative leader Pradumansingh Tomar in the last election. He is considered to be getting ticket again. He was defeated by Pradumansingh Tomar in 2008.
This time too, it is possible that Pradumansingh will compete with Pavaiya. However, other BJP leaders like Narendre Singh Tomar’s son Ramu Tomar, Ved Prakash Sharma, SADA President Rakesh Jaadon, are the contenders for the ticket from this seat. Leaders like Pradumansingh, Ashok Sharma and Maharaj Singh Patel from the Congress are in the race for the ticket.
The Gwalior South seat is being considered by the Congress as the strongest one. That is why nearly half a dozen Congress leaders are in the race for the ticket from here.
Reputation of Scindhya and Narendra Singh is at the stake in Gwalior
BJP MLA Narayan Singh Kushwaha had been a minister for ten years and has become minister again, four months back from this seat, but he could not give any special deal to this area. This weakness is giving energy to the Congress.
Assuming the deduction of the ticket of Narayan Singh GDA President Abhay Chowdhry, Mayor Vivek Shejwalkar and former Mayor Gupta are in the race for tickets from here. At the same time, Bhagwan Singh Yadav, Ramesh Agarwal, Mohan Singh Rathod and Rashmi Pawar Sharma are in the process of getting tickets for the Congress.
Bharat Singh Kushwaha, the present MLA of Gwalior Rural, is scared this time on the allotment of the ticket. But he has positive expectations from Narendre Singh Tomar that he will help his getting the ticket again. BJP’s former President Kisan Morcha, Mahendra Singh Yadav is once again lobbying for the ticket.
At the same time, ex-MLA Madan Kushwaha, who came to the Congress from BSP, is in the race for the ticket from Scindhiya’s camp. Ex-MP Ram sevak Singh’s son Uday Veer Singh and Ashok Sharma’s names are also bouncing in the Congress.
Dabra and Bhitarwar are completely rural areas and the two seats in the district are both occupied by the Congress. In Dabra, Congress can give ticket to existing MLA Imarti Devi for the third time. If the speculation about the joining of former president of Dabra Municipality Satyakshi Parsadia in Congress is true, then the path of Imarti Devi may be difficult from here.
Aarti Maurya and Suresh Raje are the strong contenders for the ticket from BJP. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) too has a lot of influence here. Being involved in politics by staying in many parties and now from his own party i.e. Bahujan Sangharsh Dal’s engineer Phool Singh Baraiya can also fight the election.
Bhitarwar’s sitting MLA Lakhan Singh Yadav had won this seat three times. He defeated former minister Anoop Mishra in the last election. Lakhan Singh make synergy between Scandia and Digvijay camp, so he is being considered as a strong contender.
On the other hand, Anup Mishra, Balendu Shukla, Lokendra Parashar and Ashok Patarsiya have emerged as the new claimants for the ticket from BJP. Ramniwas Singh Gurjar, who has been the candidate for the last time from the BSP, this time also he is claiming.
