Hosp demand: JSpur Padayatra kick starts

A Padayatra from Naugaon in the district to Bhubaneswar pressing for establishment of a special category hospital [SCH] in Jagatsinghpur kick started at Bhatina village under Naugaon block on Thursday evening.

 The Jagatsinghpur Bikash Mancha and Urmilochan Pathagara members organised the Padayatra as per their earlier schedule, supported by many organisations across the district and political leaders cutting across party affiliations.

At the launching occasion, hundreds of locals and prominent leaders like Jagatsinghpur Municipality Chairman Biplab Choudhury, District Bar Association president Raj Kishor Behera, scribe Bibekananda Swain, BJP leader Raghunandan Das, former MLA and BJD leader Joytis Das and Pathagara representative Pramod Kumar Swain were present.

They held a meeting at Naugaon Bazar and on Friday the Padayatra would proceed towards the Jagatsinghpur headquarters. The organisers claimed that the Padayatra would culminate in Bhubaneswar by July 9, where a memorandum would be given to the Chief Minister and the Health Minister seeking their intervention for granting a SCH for Jagatsinghpur.
