Hiding from media Rahul visits gaushala’ at Babu ka Purwa of Gaurigank

Maintaining a distance from media persons and avoiding to react on the Centre’s decision to raise Mimimum Support Price (MSP) for various food grains, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi visited a ‘gaushala’ at Babu ka Purwa of Gauriganj in his Parliamentary constituency of Amethi on Thursday. 

On the first day of his visit on Wednesday, Rahul had lunch at a madarsa and his visitto the gaushala is being seen as a balancing act. 

“During his visit, Rahul enquired about the health of the cows from the farmer managing it. He also served fodder to some cows before leaving the place,” disclosed Congress MLC, Deepak Singh, who accompanied the party chief to Amethi. 

Earlier in the day, Rahul held ‘Janata Darshan’ and patiently heard the grievances of hundreds of people, who flocked the party office to meet him. 

Among the visitors, there were several handicapped, who wanted to seek government help and urged Rahul to pursue their case. Mohammad Ayaz of Nihalgarh in Jagdishpur Assembly segment sought financial help for his house. He queued up since Wednesday night to meet the Congress chief. 

Afterlisteningto people’s grievance till noon, Rahul later visited couple of places in his constituency before leaving for New Delhi via Lucknow on Thursday evening. 

Former Union minister and MP Sanjay Sinh and his wife Ameeta Singh met the Congress chief and discussed with him issues related to the party and the people.

“A discussion on how to make the Congress stronger in UP was held with Rahulji,” Sanjay Sinh said. 

A number of students, party activists, people from the business fraternity also met Rahul duringhis stay. 

Former UP minister and senior BJP leader Ram Lakhan Pasi’s daughter Sangita Anand and her husband also met Rahul.Asked about the meeting, Anand said that she was here to see her MP and nothing should be read between the lines.

After Janata Darshan, Rahul met farmers and interacted with them at Mukutnath Inter college in Tala village. He also visited the home of CRPF martyr Anil Maurya in Naraini and paid his homage. Maurya died during an Naxal ambush in Sukuma area of Chhattisgarh on April 20. 

Rahul also visited party leader Baijnath Tiwari’s house, whose wife passed away recently and offered his condolences. Later, he met former block pramukh of Amethi - Ram Murti Shukla and wished him for his kin’s marriage.
