Jawan’s folk song takes social media by storm

A video of a a folk song sung by a CRPF jawan who hails from Palakkad district of Kerala is going viral on social media. Jawan V Satheesh Kumar posted the popular folk song on his Facebook account, which has been widely watched and appreciated on social media.

Satheesh is currently stationed in Kohima, Nagaland.

Satheesh Kumar says that he sang the romantic folk song ‘Poomaram Poothulanje’ to lift the spirits of his colleagues and teammates in Kohima who are currently patrolling a territory looking for terrorists. A friend recorded his performance on his video camera while Satheesh sang the song.

His video has seen more than 1,00,000 views on Facebook. Not only this, this video has been shared over 2,700 times. People from different parts of the world are praising Satish's video. Surendra Singh, Commandant of Satheesh’s battalion, also congratulated him.

Satheesh has received invitations from many institutions in Kohima. He sang this particular song for children of the government school in Kohima. He is now learning Angami, a language spoken in tribal areas of Nagaland. Through this, his purpose is to sing the local songs of Nagaland.

Not just this, Satheesh has also penned down a song titled “I am waiting for you” for his wife and eight-month-old son. The song has been uploaded to his Facebook Account.
