49 cases resolved at Pariharam 2018; mass contact programme held at Aluva Taluk

KOCHI:  84-year-old Khadeeja came in front of Ernakulam District Collector K Mohammed Y Safirulla, with a request to revoke the decision to withhold the pension to her specially abled son. The only source of income of her family is the pension and when the Collector asked her the reasons, Khadeeja said the pension was withheld for the past one and a half years because her son does not have an Aadhaar Card. 

She also said as her son has issues with his finger, his thumb impression is not getting recorded properly. After reading Khadeeja’s complaint, the Collector said: “We will resolve it”. He soon instructed the Revenue officers to solve the issue. The Aadhaar number was also allotted to Faizal, Khadeeja’s son. 

Just like Khadeeja’s case, 63 other complaints were also considered at the Pariharam-2018, the mass contact programme held at Aluva Taluk office on Wednesday. Most of the complaints filed were related to Revenue Department and survey. In the file Adalath, 119 complaints were considered, out of which 49 were resolved. The District Collector instructed the officials concerned to take steps to resolve the remaining complaints soon. 

A total of 187 files, which were caught in red tape, were considered by ‘Pariharam’. The Collector handed over the documents back to 27 people, whose cases were settled at the Adalath. The remaining 160 files were forwarded to respective complainants after completing the surveys. The complaints resolved include wrongly recorded survey numbers, wrongly demarcated puramboke lands, change in alignment, and issues related with patta. “The main aim of Pariharam is to resolve the complaints against land survey in a speedy manner. A similar programme will be organised at five taluks in the next three months,” said the Collector.
