RAJKOT: A Rajkot-based doctor was sentenced to a one-year jail in a cheque bouncing case by a court on Tuesday.

According to the case details, Dr Nitin Vania had issued a cheque of Rs 3 lakh to Dishant Makadia which bounced. Vania had taken Rs 3 lakh from Makadia on credit in April 2015.

As the cheque issued in June 2015 bounced, Makadia moved the court against Vania. The court, while sentencing Vania to jail, also ordered him to pay Rs 3 lakh to Makadia.
