CHENNAI: The children of Little Flower Convent Higher Secondary for the Deaf and Blind will bookmark Tuesday morning. A total of 150 differently-abled children and their teachers took a joy ride in the Metro from AG-DMS to Chennai Airport.

The ride was organised by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) in association with BNY Mellon Technology as part of their corporate social responsibility activity. A Metro Rail spokesperson said that it was part of an attempt to bring awareness to students of government schools across the Metro Rail alignment in the city.

During the monthly educational trip from Central Metro to Airport and AG-DMS to Airport, students will be educated about features of the metro train and its stations.

The educational trips for this academic year 2018-19 commenced from June 21 and a total of 1,993 students from Government and Corporation Schools have taken this education trip to date.

CMRL in collaboration with Cafe Udupi Ruchi is offering a flat 50 per cent discount exclusively to Metro passengers from July 5 to July 20 at Thirumangalam, Anna Nagar Tower, Anna Nagar East and Shenoy Nagar Metro stations. Passengers will have to show their ticket, and trip card to avail this offer.
